This is part 1 of my SEO Tips series. I am going to list 5 SEO tips in each post, for those who will benefit from them:
SEO Tips #1
Include your keyword into your Title tag wherever possible. But don't spam your title with keywords.
SEO Tips #2
Before registering your domain, do a keyword research. Once you have identified your keyword, include your keyword into your domain.
SEO Tips #3
Use the H1 tag sparingly to highlight your contents' titles. As the tips before, try using your keywords into your title.
SEO Tips #4
Do not keyword spam your article. This can be discovered by the search engines and your website could be penalized.
SEO Tips #5
Based on my experience, articles of at least 500 words tend to rank easier compared to shorter articles. This is just my perception and I could be wrong.
I hope these are useful, do come back for Part 2.

Why is Link Building Important?
Imagine a scenario where you have a blog about Malaysian news. You post 4-5 times a day and it is now 6 months old.
Now try going to Google and type in "Malaysian News". You will find that the first few results are for The Star, Bernama and Malaysia today. But you blog is also related to Malaysian news, why isn't your blog shown in the first few results?
Think about this. There are literally millions of websites out there talking about the same topics again and again. Just ask yourself this simple question, how many news blogs/websites that you are aware of? Google can't show all of them in the first page.
So how does Google determine who should be first in the results, second and so on? The answer lies in backlinks.A backlink is a link placed in a website other than yours, but is pointing back to your website. Now just imagine this scenario, you read an interesting news on thestar.com.my and you would want to tell your friends about it. What do you do? You will copy the URL from the address bar in your browser, and paste it on Facebook, or post it on Lowyat.net. That is one backlink for The Star.
Google determines who should be on the first page based on the number of backlinks a website has. If you blog has 1000 links while another blog of your friend has only 10 links, it makes sense to Google and even ourselves that your blog is more popular than your friends correct?
So does that mean that you should go all out and build as many links as possible? No. Backlinks are very important but there is more to how Google makes a decision than just by the number of backlinks a website has.
For now, this should give you a very clear idea of what and how backlinks work.

My Previous Internet Marketing Work and the Importance of Privacy
I have ventured into Internet Marketing since June 2009 and it is now 1 year and 4 months since I started doing this. To date I have exactly 63 clients which I have successfully helped with two of the latest being from freelancer.com.
You can have a look at my profile here on Freelancer.com:

Many have asked me what are the website which I have worked on before. As stated in my emails or freelancer profile or anywhere else, I take the privacy of my clients seriously. SEO and Internet Marketing isn't exactly something most would call as ethical. It is creating artificial popularity and if this is leaked out, it would probably change the perception of others to your business.
I clearly understand this and hence I will never ever reveal your website to my prospective clients. In return, all I asked for is for you to refer your friends and families to me. So that I can continue serving them and of course remain in business.
